Dell Streak: Might Be Launched by AT&T on July 19th

An “AT&T source” has told BGR that the Dell Streak is hitting American streets on July 19th. If that date is correct, then Dell must be about ready to unleash Android 2.1 Eclair for the Streak, which is weighed down by Android 1.6.

The Streak is £449 unlocked from Dell UK but is free with a 24-month O2 contract. Should BGR’s tip be legitimate, surely, an OS update is imminent. Although the 5-inch Streak has many bells and whistles, including a nearly impenetrable glass LCD, the smartphone’s old Android build is keeping it from being great (just like Sony’s Xperia X10).
