Originally leaked as the Galaxy Pro S, the Samsung Epic 4G has been officially announced by Sprint. With a QWERTY keypad, the Epic is a logical alternative to the hot HTC Evo 4G.

The Epic 4G is basically a Galaxy S with a keypad. With the same powerful Hummingbird SoC, the Epic actually has a slightly smaller screen than the Evo’s 4.3-inches. When the Epic launches in “the coming months,” it meets the wants of tactile feedback lovers that the other WiMax phone is missing. Unfortunately, the Epic ships with Eclair, so an update to FroYo could be well in the offing.

looks so cute and portable - even though most phones are going towards a bigger look [in a way]
seems to be a nice alternative though - if you’re on Sprint anyway raspberry
