Visual leaks are pleasing to the senses, but informational leaks can be even more tantalizing. Would you believe a BGR report that puts the Motorola Droid X (formerly Droid Xtreme, Shadow) on Verizon’s roster by July and the Droid 2 in August? I believe the one and doubt the other.


The Droid Xtreme will be Motorola’s highest performance non-QWERTY Android and is the answer to the HTC Droid Incredible. I have few problems with accepting a July release for it; however, August for the Droid 2 seems premature since the Droid is still selling quite a few units and is nowhere close to its one-year anniversary yet. BGR’s source claims that the Droid 2 will ship with FroYo, but I suspect that a September/October launch is more likely. We shall see.
