From Ziggytek: One of my pet-peeves is the misuse of terms like “knock-off” and “fake” to describe something that is merely a lookalike. Zenithink’s iPadclone” is the latter, although it has widely been misrepresented as the former. Backed by premium features such as Android Eclair 2.1 (no outmoded Donut or Cupcake!) and 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, the Zenithink tablet might be good and could go for under $300. More »

The equivalent of $189 nets you an iPad wannabe that has a 7″ (800×480) LED LCD, a Rockchips 600MHz processor, and Android 1.5 OS. More »

Nothing says memorable like Google’s creation of Android. This month, we’re making your May memorable by giving away one Organic Cotton Android Walking the Dog T-shirt. There’s no way you can forget Android if it’s on your shirt. Entering to win is easy: More »

From Ziggytek: Pertaining to tablets, we have been bamboozled before. We have been fed vaporware and delayed products that were awful when finally released. Who knew that creating a good tablet was so challenging! LG’s newest Android 1.6 smartphone, the Optimus GT540, launched on Saturday in the UK and is powered by old hardware, but that is OK because it is not intended for geeks, but for newbies looking to dabble into smartphones. More »

From Ziggytek: Released last week, the neofonie WePad is off to a running start. Amazon Germany had the Linux based slate as the top selling product at one point, although now it has dropped to number 7. From the average of 9 reviewers, the WePad has been given an unspectacular 3.5 out of 5 stars. More »

BumpTop is software that morphs Windows and Mac OS X desktops into interactive 3D interfaces –it is almost like having a real desktop on your computer. Google has bought out the small group, and the likelihood is that Android and ChromeOS home-screens will soon be in 3D too. More »

At a corporate Sprint store in Central Florida, the eagerly anticipated HTC Evo 4G is making a pre-launch appearance. If you are in the area, check out the place and be sure to ask the smartphone for its autograph. More »

In another move that could be (erroneously) construed as anti-Apple, Adobe, as part of its Flash 10.1 for Android development promotion, will be giving its employees free Android 2.1 smartphones –presumably either the Nexus One or Motorola Droid. I would not anticipate that the Droid Incredible is the giveaway phone since it is nearly sold out at vendors, and Google loves to hand out its Nexus One like it is a Tic-Tac. More »
