From Ziggytek: In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Dan Schulman of Sprint has conceded what everyone knows, that the Palm Pre has failed to live up to expectations. Sprint CFO Robert Brust says that his company would “love” to carry the iPhone, but unfortunately, there is no contract in place to do so. Brust’s statement should dispel the notion that the 10 million CDMA iPhones that Apple has allegedly ordered are going anywhere near Sprint, yet Verizon iPhone rumors persist despite Ivan Seidenberg’s (Verizon CEO) statement that he did not know whether his company was getting the coveted phone. If the Chief of Verizon is unaware, how do these reporters know? More »

The first commercial of the HTC Droid Incredible has its charms, as is usual for Verizon Android ads, but it omits showing the actual device itself. The new television spot showcases the phone but not until the very end and for only a glimpse. More »

The LG Ally for Verizon turned out not to be the “Aloha” after all, so let everyone move onto the next piece of gossip: just approved by the FCC, the LG LG-C710h might be the “Aloha,” aka LU2300 that many are lusting after, but it is not CDMA Verizon bound like previously speculated; instead, the LG-C710h filing has AT&T GSM/WCDMA 3G bands 1900/850. Sprint has announced that the HTC Evo 4G is being packaged with an 8Gb microSD card in the pictured box. While 8 gigs may be insufficient for a select few buyers, most can live with it. At least Sprint has saved you $25 or whatever an 8Gb card goes for. By contrast, Verizon is giving out meager 2Gb cards (which is nearly useless) for a “limited time” with the Droid Incredible. How do these price tags sound to you? $99 for a 7″ (800×480) C117 and $148 for the 10.1″ (1024×600) Android 1.6 Donut netbooks from CherryPal Asia. Oh, and they sort of resemble Apple’s MacBook. More »
