Android Guys is reporting that AT&T is getting Samsung’s i897, which is comparable to the Galaxy S and has a 4.1″ AMOLED display, Snapdragon processor, 5-megapixel camera, and Android Eclair 2.1.

The tipster has this to say about the phone:

I also noticed that there is the default Google search widget on the main page of the handset. Not sure if this is a big deal but I remember reading that the Backflip used Yahoo search instead of Google. Of course this is a developer handset so they still might go with yahoo in the end.

There are no further details, such as price and launch date, but AT&T customers who have been jealously eyeballing their CDMA neighbors’ Android smartphones might be able to pick up an equivalent for themselves soon.
