Boy Genius Report got tipped some uplifting news today. According to an alleged Rogers flyer, the higher-end Acer Liquid E is about to be sold in Canada for a measly $425 unlock or $49.99 with a 3-year contract.

If the report is true, then I think that I have found my next Android smartphone. Forget about waiting for T-Mobile’s MyTouch 3G Eclair update. The Liquid E has Eclair, an underclocked Snapdragon, a WVGA screen, and for $425? HTC’s MyTouch Slide might never make it across the border because it would be stopped for being overpriced.
