Although it is only in alpha stage right now, and the ROM is horribly buggy and slow, a ROM of Android 2.2 FroYo from XDA Developers is “working” on the Nexus One and Verizon’s Droid Eris.

Since the HTC Droid Eris has been officially updated to Eclair, owners of the smartphone should, in my opinion, refrain from this alpha FroYo ROM, which merely goes to show how quickly a few programmers can move development of Android along when they are passionate about it and are not just paid to do the job.
