The grapevine buzz is that June 2nd or 16th is the release date, but the prices seem to be accurate. $399.99 hits the sweet spot for most consumers and is very competitive with what is out there currently; however, $150 with a 2-year contract is ridiculous when Best Buy is offering the Motorola Droid for $129.99 and Motorola Devour at $69.99 with new 24-month terms from Verizon.

TMO News posters are happy with $150, but they probably need to shop around more. Do they need to be reminded that the Slide is a 600MHz and 480×320 (lower-end) phone? HTC Sense UI and Android 2.1 do get thumbs up though.
