Sprint has announced that the HTC Evo 4G is shipping June 4th for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate. Naturally, the price is for a 2-year contract with an extra $10 per month Premium Data buy-up gimmick, not including voice and data fees.
A Sprint e-mail suggests that the Evo 4G can be had for $450 without a contract:
Phone Offer: While supplies last. $449.99 – $150.00 (two-year activation) – $100.00 (mail-in rebate) = $199.99 (final price).
$450 sounds like an incredible deal, but keep in mind that the monthly service plans ($69 minimum) are expensive.
