David Wong’s Android hack allows Google’s open source smartphone operating system to be installed on Apple’s iPhone 2G (1.8 million YouTube views and counting!). Now, the ROM has been ported over to work on the iPhone 3G too. Could the iPad be next?

Bookmark Linux on the iPhone and follow David’s progress. Multi-touch and the interface are coming along nicely. Texting works, but at present, making and receiving calls are impossible. I bet that he gets the issue resolved quickly, especially if generous contributors donate a few bucks to help the cause. Hey, David deserves it.
