Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen misspoke during a Fox interview when he said that Flash 10.1 would not be available until the second half of this year. What he meant was that new hardware with 10.1 installed would not be out before Q3 2010. Adobe has clarified the misunderstanding by stating that the plug-in itself will arrive for download prior to the second half of this year.
Initial demonstrations of an early Flash 10.1 build proved that it could run briskly on performance smartphones like the HTC HD2 and Motorola Droid, but based on how sluggish and buggy Flash for Windows and particularly for OS X is, we have to hold our breaths that Adobe can deliver pleasant results.
