Motorola’s Square Android 2.1 Slider Smartphone

Droid Dog has since removed the images and information from its post, but John swears that Motorola’s square smartphone with QWERTY slider keypad is “definitely real,” and the story behind the source is almost too lame to make up.

4:3 aspect ratio fanatics can claim victory if this squared Motorola slider ever materializes. Running MotoBlur and Android 2.1, the resolution appears to be only 320×320, which is disappointing unless the square QWERTY slider is an economical model. It is an interesting idea, but I would choose higher resolution any day, regardless of shape.
