HTC Legend and Desire Rooted

Photographic evidence from MoDaCo informs us that the new HTC Legend and Desire smartphones have been rooted. Although few will want to tinker too much with HTC’s Sense UI and Android 2.1, having root access enables programmers to add and/or remove some elements to their liking, thus tuning their smartphones into fully customized machines.

I do not imagine that many Legend and Desire owners will want to load a different version of Android on their units since they ship with Eclair 2.1 and HTC’s latest and greatest Sense UI, including the cool Expose trick. However, multitudes of Hero, myTouch, Dream, etc. folks are dying to run these ROMs on their Android.
