eXpansys UK has both the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini and Mini Pro for pre-order. The Android smartphones are scheduled to ship on April 13th in the UK for hefty sums (based on their limited hardware and software abilities).

These prices are quite sad, considering the Mini and Mini Pro are supposed to be “budget” Xperia models. With the specifications for these Minis, low resolution 240 x 320 (same as my 2″ Sony Walkman phone!), an ancient OS called Android 1.6, and a so-so 600MHz MSM7227 processor, one should demand significantly lower prices. There is no mystery here –these two smartphones will not run Flash 10.1.

I love most Sony designs, but the company’s prices and strange practices (such as proprietary codecs, memory cards, etc.) have always been discouraging.
