Most have been waiting for this updated myTouch from T-Mobile, now featuring a much needed 3.5mm standard headphone jack, more RAM, and an 8Gb microSD card, but the price is still fairly high at $149.99 with a 2-year contract. At this point, why would anyone not just spring the extra $29 and get a Nexus One with a new contract?

I do not mind the proprietary headphone jack on my first generation myTouch because the pause button on the adapter is actually useful, although I suspect that the adapter degrades audio quality very slightly. No, I do not use the stock earbuds by T-Mobile, and I never use free headphones/earbuds supplied with any music or media player. My Shure SE310 is substantially better. The large 8Gb SD card is a welcome though, as is Swype, and the extra RAM (boosted from 192Mb to 288Mb just like the HTC Magic). Most users will not notice the increase to 288Mb memory. Aside from these additions, the myTouch remains exactly the same as before, with the same processor, screen, and body. If I did not already have a myTouch, I would just spend a little bit more and get the Nexus One or Motorola Droid.
