Android Citysmart App: Guide to Vancouver and 2010 Olympics

Tourism Vancouver has an Android and Windows Mobile application that is an in-depth guide to Vancouver and its surrounding areas for the 2010 Winter Olympics. This application is free and integrates Google Maps. Citysmart has interactive GPS, an events calender, live traffic updates, transportation planner, “Footprint” of photos taken, which can then be replayed on Google Earth, and much more.


The Olympic games will be a spectacle that happens in my own hometown. To facilitate travel and activities for tourists, an Android application that functions as a travel guide has been made available. Just go to Android’s App Market and type “Satsports” to find the free download.

I am certainly taking advantage of this useful app. In the future, iPhone and Blackberry versions will be available. Hopefully, more cities and destinations will be added to the application too.
