Also confirmed are the fears that Motorola’s Devour would be held back to Android 1.6 Donut. Most of the box information shown a few days ago are true, but there is still no official word about the rumored MSM7627 multi-core 600MHz Qualcomm processor, which everyone would want.
All of the specs are the same as previously speculated. The Devour marks the first time that Verizon will carry a Motorola Android smartphone. Unfortunately, Motorola has chosen to hamper its mid-range Devour by not including Android Eclair. I suspect that Motorola has done this to keep its Droid at the head of its class, yet there was no need because the latter’s biggest draws are its high-resolution 854 x 480 screen and fast Cortex-A8 CPU. Nevertheless, the Devour is made of aluminum and appears sturdy, unlike most plasticky smartphones.
